HUGE congratulations to Maia Weintraub for winning gold at the Olympics with the women’s foil team! She took a gap year from her undergrad studies to focus on training, as well as assisting with research in the lab. Amazing job, Maia!!

Hillery’s paper on the evolution of hatching behavior in Aedes aegypti received the Presidential Award from the American Society of Naturalists. This award is given by the ASN President to one paper published in The American Naturalist each year. Check out the announcement on the ASN website. And congrats to all co-authors!

Congratulations also to postdoc Lukas Weiss, Nathalie’s in-lab mentor, who received an inaugural Exemplar Mentor Award from the McGraw Center after being nominated by Nathalie. These new awards recognize the time and energy postdocs and graduate students invest in mentoring early career researchers at Princeton. Congratulations and a big thank you to Lukas!
